CHEF Peter Edey
of Barbados in Montreal
A Taste of the Caribbean is pleased to welcome back to Montreal
for Barbadian Executive Chef Peter Edey. Peter started his cooking career at
the Barbados Hotel School at the age of 18, where he trained in Food Preparation
and presentation, graduating at the top of his class a year later.
His culinary
career took him through Hotels such as The Mirimar,(now The Royal Pavilion),
the Barbados Hilton, Sandy Beach and Cobblers Cove; throughout this period he
did several stints in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and France
gaining valuable practical knowledge and experience in the art of cooking.
Including one year on a Cruise Ship, which as explained by the Chef "was a
baptism in fire of large volume food preparation" In 1995, Peter
graduated from the prestigious International School of Culinary Arts, Ecole de
Gastronimie Francaise Ritz- Escoffier, Paris, with a Degree in Culinary Arts.
Making him one of the most qualified local Chefs. Peter also holds
the title C.C.H.T (Certified Caribbean Hospitality Trainer's Certificate)
which enables him to train personnel in this discipline throughout the Caribbean.
